Archdeacon of Oyi Anglican Archdeaconry in Anambra state, Venerable Joseph Nweke has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against incurring the wrath of God, by failing to release Nnamdi Kanu.

This is a voice of reason. I foresee a situation where God visited His anger on Buhari if he failed to release Kanu from the detention. So, I am advising Mr. President to release him in order to escape that wrath, he said. 

Venerable Nweke said the government’s refusal to release Kanu in spite of court orders to the effect, is similar to the case of the Biblical Pharoah, who refused to allow the Israelites to leave Egypt as well as the Biblical St. John the Apostle, who could not be killed by the enemies, even after they threw him into hot oil.
Speaking on Wednesday, at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Ogbunike, during a church service to mark St. John the Apostles Day, the cleric advised Buhari not to harden his heart to avoid attracting the wrath of God like Nebuccadnezzar.
Nweke said he’s come to the conclusion that there’s no basis for the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, after several competent court of laws had ruled for his release.
