The Iranian parliament have urged for the shipment of emergency aid to
shia Muslims in Nigeria. The nature of the aid was not specified, but
these could include self-defence equipment, as the parliamentarians
urged that no stone should be left unturned - including using the back
channels.
The Saturday and Sunday crackdown on the Shiite community by the
Nigerian army that ended in the massacre of the Shias in several raids
has caused serious concerns in Tehran.
